Benjamin Haruki Schneider born August 1.
by Kevin Makice
A Ph.D student in informatics at Indiana University, Kevin is rich in spirit. He wrestles and reads with his kids, does a hilarious Christian Slater imitation and lights up his wife's days. He thinks deeply about many things, including but not limited to basketball, politics, microblogging, parenting, online communities, complex systems and design theory. He didn't, however, think up this profile.

Avoiding July entirely, Benjamin Haruki Schneider arrived into the loving arms of Mike and Suzette Schneider at 10:33 A.M. on Tuesday, August 1. The little boy weighed in at 7 lbs, 7 oz and was 20.5 inches long. According to the initial report from Mike, Suzette was in labor for about 18 hours but only had to push for about 30 minutes. Haruki, by the way, is a Japanese name that means “shining brightly.”
Happy new father Mike has already put modern technology to work with a website to house the many digital pictures he has been taking. To see Benjamin’s baby pictures, go to www.volleyweb.com/album.
