In a peaceful ceremony surrounded by nature, family and friends, Tonya Hennen and Bill Reiswig were married on September 16, 2000 at 4:00 p.m. The Washington state couple returned to the site of their first date at a guest house on Lopez Island, Washington.
Bill met Tonya about four years ago while teaching science in the
Washington public school system. Tonya “toured” with a traveling science exhibit, at one point holding the prestigious and ultimate job title of “Brain Power Supervisor.” The two share common interests in science, education and outdoor adventures. The day after the wedding, the newlyweds invited guests to participate in a nuptial kayak trip around the island waters.
The couple are also dedicated environmentalists. To help celebrate their marriage, donations in their name to the Nature Conservancy (www.tnc.org) or the Heifer Project International (www.heifer.com) are encouraged.
The wedding was so well received, Tonya and Bill have added a second performance on November 25. This time, the celebration will be in Tonya’s hometown of Woodstock, Illinois.
