Carter is very into superhero play.

Archie is really into identifying family members by name.

So this afternoon, I was the evil bad guy, Carter was Batman, and Archie was supposed to be my assistant.

I outlined my evil plan:

“I have an evil plan to finish Batman once and for all! I will use my secret legray to disable him permanently!”

I peered around the couch. “Is that you, Batman?”

Archie leaps in: “CAAAAA TERRRRR!”

We try to stay in character. I continue. “I will use a sonar to track Batman and use my evil leg ray. My assistant, Sonar man will help.”

“AAAAAA CHEEEEE” Archie looks quite perplexed.

“My assistant-”

“AAAAAAAA CHEEEEEEEEEE” Archie is perturbed.

“–Archie, the evil sonar man will find him.”

Finally, Archie smiles, pats his chest, and then gives a big sonar man growl.
