Sometimes my brain doesn’t quite work. Observe, as I confuse my sister’s ex, my deceased Uncle and my handsome step-brother:
Me: my sister and her boyfriend broke up
Kind Friend: Oh no, is that the one Carter called uncle?
Me: No- no, he’s dead.
Kind Friend: Oh, no. I’m so sorry. The one in law school?
Me: eh. [...]
