So graduation time is upon us, pending lots of work in the next few weeks. A Ph.D student in informatics at Indiana University, Kevin is rich in spirit. He wrestles and reads with his kids, does a hilarious Christian Slater imitation and lights up his wife's days. He thinks deeply about many things, including but not limited to basketball, politics, microblogging, parenting, online communities, complex systems and design theory. So graduation time is upon us, pending lots of work in the next few weeks. Costs $$$ for everyone but me and inconveniently takes the kids out of the equation. Not sure what we’re going to do there.
The second is for the general IU ceremony in Assembly Hall, which I think is at 3p Saturday, if I’m reading it correctly. That’s a stand-in-unison and be blessed thing, one that requires gown rental. The idea of spending any more money than is necessary is a little inhibiting, so I may rethink the big walk.
