Carter, Archie and I have been enjoying the beautiful butterflies enticed by our flower garden. In fact, yesterday, a hummingbird fluttered at our front window! (Of course, it took me a few seconds of deep breathing before I recognized it as a hummingbird and not a giant palmetto bug determined to follow me from New Orleans).

We found this site that has been lots of fun for us. You can enter your county or state and see which species have been spotted in your area, along with pictures of their entire life cycle. We’ve just begun to explore, but we’re pretty sure we saw this one this morning.
