Once in a city in the Farthest West there lived a girl called Fatima. She was the daughter of a prosperous spinner. She had a lot of bad things happen to her, but it turned out to be the right life for what the world needed her to do. Gabriel first told me the story of Fatima in ‘91, and now I think of it whenever I have a bad day.
