Not much activity on Monday afternoon on my “Offline Wikis” idea. The term obviously meant different things to different people, including:

  • Applying wiki philsophy to the offline world
  • Evidence of wiki interactions in real life discussion
  • How to access wiki content when not at a computer
  • Integration of offline users with online wiki article creation & editing

The issue of accessing information without a computer is one that merits further discussion, but the focus I was hoping for was on looking at the way people interact without a computer mediating for them and seeing what wiki-like properties the offline environment holds. From a design standpoint, if we communicate one way and the program forces us to do something else, then it likely is not going to be as effective for the user as it could be.

I’ll try not to reinvent the wheel and refer you to the WikiSym wiki page on the subject.
