Archie has taken to asking me to repeat the same songs, over and over, in the car. One of his favorites is Carly Simon’s version of Itsy Bitsy Spider.

Archie has taken to asking me to repeat the same songs, over and over, in the car. One of his favorites is Carly Simon’s version of Itsy Bitsy Spider.

On the way home from swimming lessons we were listening to the above mentioned song as many times as we could fit in the short drive. After a couple renditions, Carter commented:

“Why on earth would he keep climbing up? I mean, he already knows it’s dangerous.”

Archie’s response: “It’s what he does.”

Carter: “Well, it’s not like spiders have playgrounds. He has to climb somewhere.”

    In our house, the answer from the resident 3-year-old would most likely have been, “That’s the nature of spiders…”
