Carter wandered into the kitchen this morning, eager to tell me about his night with Daddy.

Carter: Daddy told me the Jurrasic Park story last night but he’s not very good on the dinosaurs.

Me: Umm- he didn’t actually write the story, he’s just retelling it.

Carter: Well, he wasn’t very good with the dinosaurs because if it was really the Jurassic period, then Allosaurus and T-Rex wouldn’t be together because Allosaurs is T-Rex’s ancestor.

Note: Carter and I did a little research, and he got most of it right- while it looks like there’s no longer a belief that Allosaurs is T-Rex’s grandma, Allosaurs lived in the Late Jurassic and Tyrannosaurus was during the Cretaceous period. More information can be found here.
