Minimalist marketing

J.J. Abrams—the creator of Lost and Alias—gave a TED talk last year that was published recently on their blog. In it, the filmmaker talks about his fascination with mystery, giving some insight into why his 01.18.08 Project, now known as the movie Cloverfield being released in theatres this week, was marketed largely around the public’s collective interest in the unknown.

Wiimote Whiteboard compared to vendor option

It is this group’s first attempt to “recognize and celebrate the most compelling startups, internet and technology innovations of the year.”

Starting up Bloomington Startup

Since last November, a small number of local organizers have worked to secure City Hall to be the site for Bloomington Startup on Feb. 8-10. Today at the Design House, we kick-started the campaign with a meeting to talk strategy and divide up responsibilities.

Vote early AND often

My semester-long quest to bring Startup Weekend to Bloomington has a little campaigning to do … at least from the parent organization. We’re having our weekend on February 8-10, regardless of the outcome of the voting, but it wouldn’t hurt to help put our Indiana bubble on the tech map.
