“I missed two days in a row, but now I think I need money so I have a plan. I’m going to write a cartoon for an athour [sic].”
by Kevin Makice
A Ph.D student in informatics at Indiana University, Kevin is rich in spirit. He wrestles and reads with his kids, does a hilarious Christian Slater imitation and lights up his wife's days. He thinks deeply about many things, including but not limited to basketball, politics, microblogging, parenting, online communities, complex systems and design theory. He didn't, however, think up this profile.

Carter surprised me this morning by showing me a page from his top-secret G.R.O.W.P. leader’s journal. His most recent entry written on Tuesday says:
I missed two days in a row, but now I think I need money so I have a plan. I’m going to write a cartoon for an athour [sic].
The author to whom he is referring is Gary Larson, creator of The Far Side, which is clearly an inspiration for Carter’s new comic series: Innocent Dogs. Carter is currently writing to the cartoonist to talk business.

Carter’s work never fails to amaze me. Your boys share the Makice genius gene, me thinks.
From upside down dogs, to innocent ones–there’s some good creativity shaking down at your house! Your boys crack me up. No wonder I never see you on Facebook–I have to remember to check this page out occasionally.
Hope all are well and enjoying the fun of December…

I’ll get back into communicado in January. Hope you have a great holiday season.
