A Ph.D student in informatics at Indiana University, Kevin is rich in spirit. He wrestles and reads with his kids, does a hilarious Christian Slater imitation and lights up his wife's days. He thinks deeply about many things, including but not limited to basketball, politics, microblogging, parenting, online communities, complex systems and design theory. He didn't, however, think up this profile.
Fears of Disney and Marvel Disney bought Marvel, and we’re concerned.
What if they make a new movie, Charles Wall-e and Generation Exium?
What if I get an issue of my Spiderman...
Lights, Camera, Videogames! I’ve been thinking about things recently and I’ve come up with this:
I think that Nintendo’s “Wii” should have a movie making channel in which you...
Raising a girl Part One: VPILF and Princesses I'm sure the hormones of early pregnancy amplified my reaction- the fact that one of Kevin's grad school buddies was tweeting about a VPILF probably...
I have managed to get normal sleep since Christmas Day and found some time to enjoy a real vacation without fretting (much) about what academic and economic hell awaits in 2009. While the Mariott internets are somewhat reluctant to let us share our photos, we are trying to collect some of them into a Flickr slideshow.
Loved the pix. You have a much better eye than I do. Glad to hear WDW is “dead” on New Year’s Day. I’m making a mental note. I’ve been a serious Disney fan since working for Walt Disney Imagineering 12+ years ago. *sigh*
It’s actually better than being there for us because we’re the opposite of Cindy; we think being at Disney is close to torture.

Wonderful photos! I’m with Theresa–the idea of Disney is torture, for us. But your photos have given me hope that we could not only survive, but possibly even have some fun. Thanks for sharing!

For a brief moment I had hoped you were at Disneyland, not Disney World… but then I figured you would have at least called. The pics are great — the kids look like they are having a terrific time. Sounds like a great trip.

I found this page while investigating the mysteries of multi-touch monitors and windows 7. Thought you might find it interesting. http://mousemischief.org/drupal/

I admit I was exaggerating when I said “serious” Disney fan, but I was pixie-dusted as an Imagineer and it just doesn’t wear off quickly at all.

Random, sorta serendipitous moment:
I found your blog after seeing a LJ post about tonight’s Bloomington Geek Dinner. (Well, after back-tracking into the BG website to its beginnings and trying to figure out what the heck it’s all about, I found a link to your blog.) Anyway, I *really* like your blog design, and then I recognized your last name: I’ve met Amy a few times, although I don’t know she’d remember me.
The *especially* serendipitous part is that my family and I just returned from WDW on Sunday, and I had the kinda ridiculous concept that I was going to see someone I knew there. Must’ve been your shadow or your footsteps I kept crossing, since we weren’t there at exactly the same time (ours was 1/4-1/11).
Anyway, tell Amy hello. And maybe sometime we can compare WDW vacation pix. Didja see the Osborne Christmas Lights display at Disney Hollywood? That was a huge highlight for me.
