The symbols are free. In fact, free distribution is a core part of the effective strategy to improve visual communication. The images are in Public Domain or available under Creative Commons license.

The Noun Project is looking for volunteers to translate their website into languages other than English, and eventually will implement a system where community members can contribute to the project as well. Think Urban Dictionary for icons.
