At this time last year, Twitter was just a blip. Today, it is a legitimate and effective way of connecting to others. On Friday, Larry Chiang posted yet another list of how to leverage Twitter for marketing purposes. I worry about strategies for tweeting that don’t start with being authentic.
The Lights Go Down
We have entered a new age of Twitter utility. From simple bedroom lights to houseplants to historic bridges, the inanimate is coming alive in the form of tweets to alert and respond to user interactions.
Hair by Skywalker
After asking for several weeks, Archie finally got his hair cut. We went to the nearby mall on my birthday, meeting up with some friends running the same errand. His ideal coif was inspired by Luke Skywalker.
Future Education
An interactive map, commissioned by the KnowledgeWorks Foundation, itemizing the factors that are likely to influence public education in the next decade. It is divided into five elements—a two-dimensional space listing Drivers and Impact Areas, and the factors classified as trends, hot spots and dilemmas.
Blip
IU School of Informatics grad Erik Pukinskis tweeted something interesting just now—a link to the “Twitter for music,” a new music sharing service called Blip. If I can let the channel play in the background and hear the music others feed me, this could change the way I listen to music.
Supermomma
Like all good broke technologists, the boys and I used the resources at our disposal to plot, shoot and edit a Happy Mother’s Day video for all of the mothers in our life (in particular, the one supermomma taking care of our home and hearth).
