SproutBox

The fact that SproutBox exists at all can be considered the most important outcome of Bloomington Startup Weekend.

Iterating Startup Weekend

The circumstances of our own weekend project are still officially under wraps and in the process of being resolved—slowly—but the day has finally arrived for the next installment of Startup Weekend, this time with a return to the place where it all started. About 70 people begin pitching ideas for startup projects in bulk Friday night at the sixteenth Startup Weekend event since last July .. this time, with new rules.

Bloomington Startup Weekend is underway

I’m exhausted. I had to schedule a night of sleep before the three-day marathon at City Hall, and it was difficult to fall asleep. It was amazing to see the council chambers fill up. The Hoosier Hundred

A few moments ago, John Meylor became our 100th person to register for Bloomington Startup Weekend, achieving our final recruiting milestone. Future founders will gather in City Hall in Bloomington, Indiana on Friday to start pitching ideas for a new company.

Inspired by Women

Gretchen Clearwater and Ann Kreilkamp spoke at a meeting of Women Inspire Friday night. I was one of two men present, making my plea to the group for involvement in Bloomington Startup Weekend that much more poignant. My view that night is the same kind of ratio most women technologists see when walking into a room of colleagues. My hope is that even a few of the women I met Friday will show up on the roster this week.
