My blogging routine continues to flounder in the wake of the opened throttle on my dissertation planning. Small steps will get me back on track, and so I present another cheap attempt to feel productive—a list of all of the browser tabs I currently have open:
- Friend Feed and the Twisty Maze (Orient Lodge)—My online political pal Aldon Hynes (who does manage to blog regularly) recently wrote a very interesting post mapping the flow of information through his many conduits. I think there is an interesting cultural study in their somewhere.
- Wordle—A great little tool for generating word clouds from any text you provide. I haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but soon …
- Science’s 10 Most Beautiful Physics Experiments (Physics Animations)—ClipMarks has been largely replaced by Twine, Twitter and Reader (another tool I have slacked in using lately), but I still get a nugget or two from that community. This interested me because it is a nice overview of some of the best and most important scientific experimentation that has been done in our history.
- #pdfdebate (Tweetboards)—Billed as a Twitter debate between Obama and McCain, this exchange of tweets is still interesting even if it was conducted by representatives of the campaigns, not the actual candidates. Silicon Alley Insider had a detailed explanation of the background for this even.
