Iterating Startup Weekend
The circumstances of our own weekend project are still officially under wraps and in the process of being resolved—slowly—but the day has finally arrived for the next installment of Startup Weekend, this time with a return to the place where it all started. About 70 people begin pitching ideas for startup projects in bulk Friday night at the sixteenth Startup Weekend event since last July .. this time, with new rules.
IU sends Five to CHI … Again.
For the second consecutive year, it appears the IU School of Informatics will send five team to Florence, Italy to compete in the next round of the CHI Student Design Competition. Now in the fifth year of the event, IU has won the competition twice, placed in the top four six times, and sent a total of 19 teams to this major conference for human-computer interaction.
Starting up Bloomington Startup
Since last November, a small number of local organizers have worked to secure City Hall to be the site for Bloomington Startup on Feb. 8-10. Today at the Design House, we kick-started the campaign with a meeting to talk strategy and divide up responsibilities.
Vote early AND often
My semester-long quest to bring Startup Weekend to Bloomington has a little campaigning to do … at least from the parent organization. We’re having our weekend on February 8-10, regardless of the outcome of the voting, but it wouldn’t hurt to help put our Indiana bubble on the tech map.
