Warts . . . and other skin conditions

Warning: Nanny McPhee Spoiler follows, along with amusing conversation.

Carter and I just saw Nanny McPhee, which we loved. On our way home, I tried for some exploration of the moral of the story, etc.

Carter: It was (long pause) spectacular that her warts all disappeared.

Me: Yes, it was. Why do you think that happened?

Carter: I don’t know. Because she was a witch?

Me: I think it was because as they got to know her, they could see her true beauty. At first, they didn’t know her, and were scared of her, so she looked ugly to them. Once they got to know her, they could see how beautiful she really was.

Carter: (long pause) or it was hives.
