RootsCampSL started today on a fake hill in the virtual land of Second Life. A transcript of the gathering is available online.

I’m pretty new at the SL experience. We had to do some of this in the Sports Informatics class last spring, so my avatar — Old McDunnough — was still virtually living somewhere when it came time for the 4p Eastern meeting. Will helped me get oriented, and fortunately there were a number of newbies like me sitting in the wrong direction, etc. We talked about how to run this week of SL camp, and then went into some gleeful reports from various corners. These are all grassroots political organizers; I’m not. RootsCamp aside, I’m more the write some essays kind of activism.
I doubt I’ll be able to make every meeting this week, what with grad school and a real-life version of this to plan (sans the Progressive focus). But I would like to hear about other experiences, if anyone else is going to sit in on an afternoon session.
