Coach to have surgery

Sad news from the IU football front. Several months after the problem was first detected, Indiana University football coach Terry Hoeppner will have brain surgery tomorrow (Wednesday). Unbelievably, a recurrence of a tumor may only sideline him for 2-4 weeks.

Under Coach Hep, the Hoosiers have started 2-0 for a third straight season … the first time that has happened in about 100 years. He has instilled a number of new (hopefully lasting) traditions, including retrieving a chunk of limestone from the woods that was left over from the original construction of Memorial Stadium, now called “The Rock.”

He thinks deeply about many things, including but not limited to basketball, politics, microblogging, parenting, online communities, complex systems and design theory. He didn't, however, think up this profile.
