Nanowrimo 2008 Day one

In another attempt to try to make everyone happy, Barron Freeze called his half-brother, Barron Sol, and told him to try to make it always sunny, even during the winter, but the people in Solariun were expecting a winter where they could have fun skating across the small lagoons but instead they got water so hot it would almost scald them and they stayed inside the whole winter with the air conditioning on in shorts and sleeveless shirts.

Title of my story: The Time Traveler II (the sequel)

Where we left off, the Time Traveler was running through the jungle being chased by strange orange liquid creatures.

He had to quickly get his scepter. Running through the wood he pulled a small stick from his pocket and pulled on it until it extended into his scepter. He stopped abruptly and turned around and zapped a portal at the liquid creatures sending them to a desert world where they would eventually evaporate.

Now that they were gone, strange 20-armed gorillas, swinging in the trees realized he had stopped moving and decided to ambush him. They jumped down from the trees and surrounded him. Then the Time Traveler zapped his scepter and swung around in circles with it until he’d gotten all the gorillas until they were in a world where there were no trees at all and they couldn’t swing or anything.

With that, he zapped his scepter at himself and a warp appeared and he sucked himself into Solariun for his vacation, because Solariun is the most popular dimension in existence, there’s such tight security you have to be able to endure more than a million different kinds of warps even to get in, but the Time Traveler had been practicing, so he showed the guard exacly one million nine thousand nine hundred ninety two different kinds of warps and the guard reluctatantly let him in. From that platform the Time Traveler stepped onto, the view was amazing.

In front of him was a conveyor belt that led across to a floating island paradise with waterfalls that went down forever. Beautiful people with beautiful eagle wings were swooping and diving around in the sky and and obviously enjoyed it. The buildings went up at least two miles and had glass domes on them to protect them from snow and sleet. They were shining pure gold, and windows were made out of extremely thin sheets of silver, so thin you could see through them. They had grass so soft it was impossible to get hurt if you fell down, and that’s where the water began.

There was a small pool in front of the biggest building, which was about five miles up. The pool had rivers leading out from it and one huge waterfall that went down about ten miles into the main lagoon. The main lagoon is a pool about fifty feet across- it’s a perfect circle, fifty feet across in every direction. Millions of waterfalls led off from it. Those waterfalls fed into a huge blue orb with a few islands with cities just like this main capital one, except those cities were made out of other rare and beautiful things like platinum, rubies, emeralds, gold and silver (like the capital) and some were even constructed out of small platforms with waterfalls leading down as the walls.

The only place that looked like anyone might not want to go was directly at the bottom. It was Mount Gloom. There was almost no light there, and there was one path that spiraled all the way up the mountain to the top. On the top there was a very small castle, only about a half mile up and a quarter mile wide. It had turrets so pointy, if a balloon just happened to touch them it would pop immediately. In that castle lives Barron Freeze. He once tried to freeze all the water in Solariun. Solariun is made up of 15% land and 85% water. Barron Freeze tried to make everyone happy in the winter by letting them be able to skate anywhere they wanted but because so many people swim in Solariun he had accidentally trapped a lot of swimmers under the ice and killed about 60% of them. Others managed to break through the ice.

The brotherhood of Barrons everyone thinks is really mean even though they were trying to make the world a better place to live. Barron Freeze became evil and tried to destroy Solariun’s capital city and other cities because they didn’t like his icy winter.

Now back to the Time Traveler.
