Sketching and Perspectives

I wonder if Erik Stolterman can do this?

“Field Music – In Context”

This video is a doubly appropriate metaphor for design. First, the surface skill of wielding a marker in this way is something everyone should aim to develop. In meetings or brainstorming sessions or just in communicating something quickly in casual conversation, being able to get the idea out of your head and your words and into a picture is very valuable and effective. Second, the close perspective of the marker on wall accentuates the importance of working on the details in a framework of a larger idea. The scribbles are just scribbles if the artist doesn’t constantly have the bigger vision in mind.

Thanks to CommonCraft via Nancy White for the find.
