Finally. The Age of Flying Cars.

Thanks to Matt for the tip on the $148K investment in the Jetson’s future I’ve always wanted … Introducing (circa 2009) the TerreFugia Transition!

TerreFugia Transistion
The TerreFugia Transition is the first step toward becoming a Jetson.

The car-plane weighs 1320 pounds and can carry a payload of one-third its weight (so, maybe two adults and a computer). It has a 20-gallon tank and that lasts about four hours, claiming to get 30mpg in the air and 30-40mpg on the ground. The vehicle cruises at 120mph and needs about 1500 feet in order to takeoff. Presumably much less to land, if you do it incorrectly.

There is a nifty animation provided in the site.

Christmas 2009 is right around the corner …
